Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No. You do not need a referral to see a physiotherapist  or occupational therapist unless there is a third party involved such as WorkCover or DVA

Does Medicare cover the costs of physiotherapy treatment?

You may be eligible for up to 5 Medicare funded treatments; however there is still a small gap to pay.  Medicare will covers those with complex or chronic conditions who have been referred by their general practitioner on an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan

How long is each session?

Initial Physiotherapy sessions go for 45 minutes, and follow up sessions are 30 minutes.  Longer sessions may be booked for complex treatments, treatments of more than one area, or home visits

How much will my private health fund pay?

If you have private health cover some of your treatment may be rebateable, however this amount varies from fund to fund. Contact your health fund to find out more about your rebate.

Can I claim my health fund rebate on the day of treatment?

Yes, bring your health fund card and we can claim for you on the day of treatment.  You will then only need to pay the gap

I need to cancel my appointment – what do I do?

We are happy to cancel or reschedule your appointment where possible, however please note that we do require at least 4 hours notice if you cancel an appointment.
